The Fever broadcast team is under heavy scrutiny.
Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson set a new all-time single-season WNBA scoring record with a pull-up midrange jump shot just before halftime in Wednesday night’s game against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.
Wilson’s shot brought her to 12 points for the game and 941 points for the 2024 WNBA season, surpassing Jewell Loyd’s previous record of 939.
It was widely known that Wilson needed just 11 points to break the record heading into the game. However, when she made the historic shot, the WNBA League Pass broadcast did not acknowledge the achievement.
Indiana’s play-by-play announcer Pat Boylan and lead analyst Debbie Antonelli are now facing significant backlash on social media for this oversight.
