On Thursday, the band introduced their new lineup during a livestream, featuring Emily Armstrong as co-vocalist and Colin Brittain as drummer. They join returning members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn, with Shinoda and Armstrong sharing vocal duties.
The livestream showcased their new single, "The Emptiness Machine," where Armstrong's powerful vocals paid tribute to Bennington's legacy. The band also performed "Somewhere I Belong," highlighting Armstrong's ability to honor Bennington's style without imitation.
Shinoda emphasized the significance of the day, noting that guitarist Alex Feder was filling in for Delson. He spoke about the collective spirit of the band and the fans in continuing Bennington's legacy.
Linkin Park announced their new album, "From Zero," set to release on November 15. The album title reflects both their early beginnings as the band Xero and their current journey.
Armstrong, from the alt-rock band Dead Sara, and Brittain, a songwriter and producer, replace original drummer Rob Bourdon, who has stepped away. Shinoda praised the new members' talents and the creative synergy they bring to the band.
The band also announced the "From Zero World Tour," with shows in Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogotá. This marks a new chapter for Linkin Park as they continue to evolve while honoring their past.
